Dan-List Dowel Boring Machine Model BASP 1800

Dan-List BASP 1800 for drilling and routing of table legs is a semi-automatic, multi-functional dowel boring machine for trim cutting in 90 degrees, various routing operations and with boring units for drilling from the ends and 45 degree from the side. The machine has a hopper feed and six separate working stations.

It is a compact and complex machine with many different working operations, so Dan-List BASP 1800 is built in two separate solid machine frames which are connected with a conveyor. Dan-List BASP 1800 is standard delivered with scoring units, cut off units, boring units and routing units, which enables the machine to finish the legs in one working cycle.

The Dan-List BASP 1800 has a simple but flexible design, based on two traditional, very strong and solid machine frames, including safety guards and is quite simply built to last.

Dan-List BASP 1800 is a high capacity, solid, multi-functional, reliable and efficient dowel boring machine, which guarantees a trouble free production run.

Dan-List BASP 1800 has a capacity of approximately 400 to 500 work pieces per hour.

Equipment:

Standard the Dan-List BASP 1800 is equipped as follows:

  • 1 pcs horizontal infeed magazine. Hopper feed,
  • 2 pcs scoring units,
  • 2 pcs sawing units for cutting trim cuts in 90 degrees,
  • 2 pcs boring units for boring from the ends,
  • 1 pcs boring units for boring from the side in 45 degrees,
  • 2 pcs routers for doing the beveling,
  • 2 pcs routers for routing of 90 degree corner,
  • 6 pcs pneumatic clamping cylinders,
  • Delivery system return to operator on runners next to the main machine.

The boring unit revolve 90° around its own axis, and the boring head itself, revolve 360° around its own axis.

Safety:

As safety for the operator is a keyword on all Dan-List machines, all safety guards which can be opened contain safety switches so if the operator accidently opens a safety guard during production the machine stops.

Or if a safety guard has not been closed properly after set up, the machine will not start.

All safety features are monitored in the PLC control, and can be seen on the touch screen, if any safety devices are activated.

It is impossible for the operator to access the machine in any way during production.

PLC:

The PLC contains many features, for example:

  • On/off function and control for all working units on both machine frames,
  • Time delay for cross drillings in order to avoid collision for horizontal and vertical drillings, as well as the routings,
  • Time controlled cleaning function of drilling,
  • Programmable counter,
  • Adjustable time for air blowing of drilled work pieces,
  • Adjustable speed of infeed pusher,
  • Touch screen in English ( also available in local language ),
  • Possibility to add Ethernet connection in order to access the PLC online from our factory,
  • Individual requests,
  • And more.

Working Procedure:

The working cycle of Dan-List BASP 1800 is the following:

  1. Place the leg in the magazine,
  2. Choose which working stations and units should be activated and which should be deactivated,
  3. Start the machine,
  4. The leg is pushed into the machine and clamped pneumatically. The scoring units will be activated and make the work piece ready for the final 90 degree trim cut,
  5. In the second working station the leg is cut into 90 degrees,
  6. In the third working station the leg is drilled from the end,
  7. In the fourth working station the beveling is made and after this operation the leg is transported to the second machine frame with a conveyor,
  8. In the fifth working station, the 90 degree corner will be removed with two pieces of routers, leaving a clean surface in 45 degrees,
  9. In the sixth working station the leg is drilled in the corner, in 45 degrees,
  10. After all operations have been made, the leg is delivered back to operator on runners next to the main infeed machine.

The capacity for the Dan-List BASP 1800 is typically around 400 to 500 legs per hour, depending on cross drillings and routings.

Set-up:

The set-up of the machine is easy and operator friendly.

The operator loosen two handles on the carriers for the boring units, slide the boring units to correct position and lock the handles again.

Each boring unit has a digital reader so correct position is easily found.

Individual requests for set up is also available, see other alternatives here.
