Dan-List Dowel Boring Machine Model AFP 2500 With Robot

Dan-List AFP 2500 with robot - adding other components to the workpiece. More than “just” drilling and with automatic programmable forward movement of workpieces.

The Dan-List AFP 2500 with robot is the ideal, high quality, Danish made automatic universal dowel boring machine, which will take your production to the next level. The machine is based on the same dowel boring principles as the Dan-List AFP 2500, but by adding a robot to the machine, a wide variety of opportunities arises.

For example it is now possible to add other components to the workpiece automatically. It can be anything from small stabilizing components in the frame, to gluing station so workpieces are glue before added or a vibration system can take the components to a position where the robot will grab the piece and join it to the main piece.

The components which can be added can be other wooden pieces but it is also possible to fit aluminum pieces to the component.

Only European components of the highest possible quality are used in the construction of the machine and also the robot is made in Denmark. Drilling units and drill blocks are made in our own Danish factory.

The machine has standard one drilling unit from the top and one from the side, but more units can be added upon request. Adding a saw blade and use the machine to cut the pieces into length before drilling is also possible.

The Dan-List AFP 2500 with robot has a pusher which is programmable and controlled by a servo motor. The accuracy of each drilling position is 1/10 of a mm.

PLC:

The PLC has a memory of up to 99 different positions, but again more can be added upon request. Each program contains 18 positions, and once the program has been made and stored in the PLC, you just call it next time you have the same item, change the drills and adjust the magazines and the machine is ready to work. Even with a robot added, set up time is reduced to less than five minutes.

Naturally PLC contains all standard Dan-List features, for example:

  • On/off function for each boring unit,
  • Time delay for cross drillings in order to avoid collision for horizontal and vertical drillings,
  • Time controlled cleaning function of drilling,
  • Programmable counter,
  • Adjustable time for air blowing of drilled work pieces,
  • Adjustable speed of infeed pusher,
  • Touch screen in English ( also available in local language ),
  •  Individual requests,
  • And many more – for specific details please contact us.

The Dan-List AFP 2500 with robot is very easy to use, and any operator can learn the functions of the machine within a day. Including how to operate and adjust the robot. Even what may sound complicated to use, has still been made very simple and user friendly so that no higher skills are require to operate the machine.

Dan-List Dowel Boring Machine Model AFP 2500 With Robot

Dan-List AFP 2500 with robot goes automatically into standby mode, as soon as the magazine is empty, and wait for the next items to be loaded. Therefore the operator has the possibility to operate a second machine or to stack the finished work pieces onto a pallet while the machine is working. The Dan-List AFP 2500 is a one man operated machine.

The cycle time depends on how many positions is added to the program as well as how many magazines are needed, but please contact us for an exact calculation time for your work pieces.

Working cycle:

A typical working cycle could be like this:

  1. Program is made and stored. (Has the program already been made, then just call it to the touch screen).
  2. Machine is set up – magazines are adjusted, drills are changed – Set up takes less than five minutes.
  3. The pusher take automatically the work piece from the magazine to the first position in the program, where the work piece is clamped pneumatically and drilled. At the same time the robot takes one of the pieces which is to be fitted onto the workpiece. Obviously from a second magazine. The robot then takes the new workpiece to the glue station where glue is sprayed.
  4. Then the pusher moves the work pieces to the next position where the robot will add the new piece.
  5. The robot now returns to a third magazine, finds a new and different component to be added and take this to the glue station.
  6. Meanwhile the pusher has move the work piece to the new position where the new piece will be added.
  7. When finished the work piece is pushed onto runners which are placed next to the machine and the pusher returns to pick up a new work piece.
